Akil The MC

Akil The MC "ATM" was born and raised in the hectic streets of South Central Los Angles. Akil's sense of the ills of urban society, and his love for Hip Hop were apparent early on. He was a regular on the L.A. Hip Hop scene performing with his group "Rebels Of Rhythm" that later on joined forces with "Unity Comitee" to become Jurassic 5.

Jurassic 5 was picked up by Interscope in 1999; their first order of business was to re-release the under ground classic J5 Ep, which was followed by "Quality Control", "Power In Numbers", and "Feed Back". J5 is Known for their old school flavorful harmony and uplifting lyrical content, which Akil played a huge part in building. Songwriting is one of Akil's strong points which can be heard in some of their biggest songs. Besides lending his expertise in penmanship, Akil also added his talent as a producer to help create the Jurassic 5 formula. This formula opened doors for Jurassic 5 to travel the world, planting seeds for the hip hop culture. Akil The MC has also been involved with collaborations with other artist such as Ice T, The Pharcyde, Japan's DJ Yutaka, The DJ Format compilatio and Meshell Ndegeocello.

Jurassic 5 enjoyed a successful run in Hip Hop before deciding to call it quits. As we know Hip Hop DON'T STOP! it only get's better, and that's what Akil The MC is bringing! When you listen to his rhymes you'll feel the soul of Jurassic 5 with the shell of the South Central Scene that spawned this versatile MC. Now he brings that legendary status to 4Dub teaming with Hydro Phonics to form one of the hottest Hip Hop combinations to ever share the stage!

DJ Hydro Phonics 

Hydro Phonics is and has been one of the most highly anticipated artists to hit the scene in quite a while. Since forming the Hip Hop group 420 Boyz which he later renamed 4Dub, Hydro Phonics has been heralded as one of the next big things in Hip Hop. His physical prowess sometime dominates the stage as his raw energy combined with his rapid fire rhymes and energy can at times be intimidating but always commands your undivided attention. Hydro’s resurrection of true lyricism combined with pinpoint delivery has turned 4Dub into a true force to be reckoned with on the Hip Hop scene.

Hydro was raised in North Carolina and after winning the “Prom Promise” (a nationwide songwriting competition) as a young teenager Hydro moved out to Los Angeles in pursuit of becoming a Hip Hop superstar. His rise to Hip Hop fame was derailed as he was offered many acting jobs upon arrival to Hollywood. Still keeping true to his Hip Hop roots, Hydro kept writing and stayed actively involved in the Hip Hop circuit, doing freestyle battles and performing on TV shows with Hip Hop notables such as Missy Elliot, Eve, Karupt and many more. 

Barefoot Crew

The Barefoot sound combines the best of hip hop, African Dance, techno, reggae, dub, dancehall and kuduru. It's chest-thumbing bass, multi-tempo, straight up dirty stuffs with no limits or restriction. Barefoot is for DJs who are brave enough to switch up the sound and tempo.
